LightKeeper is developed and published by WICKLIGHT ("Wicklight", "we"), a sole proprietorship registered in France, SIREN 893 058 214, based in Courbevoie, France. This policy explains what data the game and this website process, why, and the choices you have. For any question, write to support@wicklightgames.com.
The short version
LightKeeper is designed to work offline; the game itself needs no personal data. There is no advertising, no third-party analytics SDK, and no tracking of any kind. When you use the optional online features (cloud save and the leaderboard), we process the minimum needed to make them work, tied to an anonymous identifier.
Data we process in the game
- Anonymous account identifier (Firebase Authentication). Created automatically so your progress can be backed up to the cloud and your leaderboard entry identified. It is not linked to your name, email address or phone number, unless you choose to link a Google Play Games account.
- Pseudonym. If you set one, it is stored and shown publicly on the leaderboard. Pseudonyms are moderated.
- Game progress and scores. Your save is backed up to the cloud; your run score, class, ascension and account level are published on the leaderboard.
- Purchase entitlements. Optional purchases are processed entirely by Google Play: we never receive your payment details. We only record which supporter tier your account owns, so the matching content stays unlocked.
- What we do not collect: no advertising identifiers, no third-party analytics, no location, no contacts, no device fingerprinting.
Data we process on this website
wicklightgames.com is a static site: no cookies, no analytics, no trackers (see the Cookies Policy). Our hosting provider may keep short-lived technical logs (such as IP addresses) for security purposes; we do not use them to identify visitors.
Why we process it (legal bases under the GDPR)
- Performance of a contract: providing the online features you ask for (cloud save, leaderboard, purchases).
- Legitimate interests: preventing cheating and abuse (server-side score validation, pseudonym moderation) and keeping our services secure.
- Consent: linking a Google Play Games account is always your choice.
Where your data lives and who sees it
Online data is stored with Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions), which acts as our processor. Data may be processed on servers outside the European Union under appropriate safeguards, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising. The only data other players ever see is your leaderboard entry: pseudonym, class, ascension, level and score.
How long we keep it
Cloud data is kept for as long as your account exists and is erased when you delete it. The local save stays on your device until you clear it (Settings → Clear Save) or uninstall the game.
Your rights
The GDPR gives you rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. Write to support@wicklightgames.com and we will answer within the legal deadlines. You can also lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority; in France, the CNIL (cnil.fr).
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time, permanently:
- In the app: Settings → Delete account.
- By email: see the Account Deletion page for exactly what to send.
Deletion erases your cloud save, your leaderboard entries, your pseudonym reservation and the anonymous account itself. It cannot be undone.
Children
LightKeeper is not directed at children under the age of digital consent in their country (15 in France). Online features require no personal information beyond an optional pseudonym; never use a pseudonym that identifies a child.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time; the date at the top reflects the current version. If a change meaningfully affects how your data is handled, we will flag it in the app or on this site.
